The Worthy Intercessor (Part 2)

Image
Message: THE WORTHY INTERCESSOR (Part 2) by Apostle Dr. Emma Innocent Contemporary N.T Intercessors: Let look at briefly, individuals in modern church history that distinguished themselves as worthy intercessors in their time.  i. Daniel Nash (A.k.a Father Nash):  He lived between 1775 - 1831. He served as Charles Finney personal intercessor. He was key to the revival that followed Charles' ministry. When God would direct where a meeting was to be held, Father Nash would enter the town secretly with few intercessors, and travail for God to move in the town.  Leonard Ravenhill made a story about him: "I met an old lady who told me a story about Charles Finney that has challenged me over the years. Finney went to Bolton to minister, but before he began, two men knocked on the door of her humble cottage, wanting lodging. The poor woman looked amazed, for she had no extra accommodation. Finally, for about 25 cents a week, the two men (Father Nash and Abel Clary), rented...

The Worthy Intercessor (Part 1)

Image
Message: THE WORTHY INTERCESSOR by Apostle Dr. Emmanuel C. Innocent Introduction: Who is an Intercessor?  There are two scriptures where the word "intercessor" was used. The first and only one is in KJV translation, Isa. 59:16 while the other in TPT (The Passion Translation) Eze. 22:30. Let see the one in Ez. 22:30 "I searched for someone who would repair the wall, one who fills the gap, an intercessor to cry out for mercy, but I found no one. There was no one found who would keep my justice from destroying the nation." (TPT)  To get the true meaning of an intercessor, we have to look at the Hebrew meaning to it because English words are limited in meaning.  Hebrew word for intercessor is "paga" which mean five things. They are: a. TO ENCOUNTER: This means to come against an obstacle. The first sign of an intercessor is one who is a fighter. One who is not scared of battles. One who is willing and ready to fight.  Ps. 120:7 explains the summary of the figh...

Five Portraits of a True Ministry

Image
Five Portraits of a True Ministry Written by Rev. Emma C. Innocent PhD through the HolySpirit Lev 1:1 And the LORD called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying, In this scripture, we shall be examining the five portraits that makes up a true ministry. By true ministry we  mean a ministry orchestrated by God. Before we go on, let me give you the two Greek words and their  meanings that defines the word – Ministry. First is Diakonia, meaning, the service of a servant. It refers to office of one called by God to carry out  assignment. This includes evangelist, teacher, prophets, pastors, apostles (Eph.4:11-13). Other special gifts  to the body of Christ are also listed in Romans 12:7-8. 2Cor 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; The second is Leitourgia, from where we got the English word ‘Liturgy’ meaning service of a publi...

THE PORTRAIT OF A USEFUL BELIEVER

Image
THE PORTRAIT OF A USEFUL BELIEVER Written by Rev Emma Chimaobi Innocent PhD Son 8:8-10 KJV 8 We have a little sister, and she hath no breasts: what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for? 9 If she be a wall, we will build upon her a palace of silver: and if she be a door, we will inclose her with boards of cedar. 10 I am a wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found favour. This song is an inspired one and we shall be drawing spiritual meaning from it.  First, it talks about a woman who has brothers. Her brothers worry she has no breasts. Sad to it, is a defining question which they are not sure of the answer. Their doubts was, IS SHE A WALL OR A DOOR? To be a WALL means, she is chaste or a virgin while to be DOOR means she is promiscuous. And their answer is, if she is a door, they will strengthen and encourage her but if she is a door, they will shut her off from meeting men.  Then in verse 10,she replied; "I ...

THE LAW OF SUBSTITUTION by Dr. Emma C. Innocent

Image
THE LAW OF SUBSTITUTION What you resist persist - Carl G. Jung. Resist the devil and he will flee from you - Bible How you resist, persist or decease - Emma C. Innocent. UNDERSTANDING THIS LAW will save you from fruitless efforts to overcome a bad habit. Understand that MATTER can be created but cannot be destroyed! Once an habit or person or a thing is created, you cannot absolutely destroy it. The only way to destroy it is to replace it. I had a weakness for donkey years. I did all i knew. i fasted, cried, was laid hands, prophecy, re-baptised etc. I confessed my sins consistently...yet that hold of weakness couldn't break.YOU SEE...ALL MY WORKS TO BE FREE WAS JUST EMPOWERING THE WEAKNESS IN ME. Paul cried three times to rid his infirmity but later he got the secret. what was it? THE LAW OF SUBSTITUTION. He said, I GLORY IN MY INFIRMITY. How can you do that? Just rest on his righteousness. Declare that you are as righteous as Jesus is and remove your mind on that bad habi...

IS YOUR SPIRITUAL FATHER, DEAD?

Image
A spiritual father is a person who through him or her, you come to the faith in Christ. Also, he or she is the person you willingly submit to help make your walk with God smoother, better, faster and greater (Eph. 6:1).  IT IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE MORE INSIGHT AND "RESULTS" THAN YOUR SPIRITUAL LEADER. Just as it is possible to be more knowledgeable and blessed than you r physical parent, so is it in spiritual things. A spiritual father is a protector/coverer (not the protector, cos this is the job of the HolySpirit), a guidian, an advisor, your intercessor, your 1st supporter and a counselor.  Most of the time we agree that our pastor in church is invariably your spiritual father. YES, this is true but not in all cases. For instance, if an evangelist got you bornagain through the HolySpirit and you worship under a pastor, biblically, that Evangelist is your spiritual father while your pastor is your mentor/instructor. In another sense, like our physical parent th...

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE SAVED? By Dr. Emma C. Innocent

Image
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE SAVED? this is an excerpt from my book - SAVED TO SAVE OTHERS What does it mean to be saved or to receive salvation? Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Salvation in Greek word is “ soteria ” while saved is “ soter ” which is translated as complete deliverance from sin, sickness, poverty, disease, destruction, judgment, curses, death, hell and the devil. When you are saved, you are given a package called SALVATION and everlasting life is one of it. Everlasting life is the sum of God’s total being. It is the life that never fails nor fades. This means, you are not saved for some years and then you start experiencing the old life. No! You are engrafted into God. Your DNA becomes God’s DNA. You become godlike. Jesus quoted Ps. 82:6 which says “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.” You are a god! A god can...
