WHAT TO DO WHEN PROPHECY DOES NOT COME TO PASS AT THE SET TIME

Ps.102:13 say: “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.”
In I Sam.13, we hear the Israelite were waging war against the Philistines in Michmash. Saul the king had an appointment with Prophet Samuel to make intercession for the nation before the battle- for so where their custom. But in verse 8: “And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed:  but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.
Saul waited for seven days according to the appointment but the prophet was somewhere else. How do you feel when you’ve to wait upon the Lord at a set time or period yet no voice? Today, you’ll find out the secret to keep on moving forward despite ‘failed prophecies’.
God from the very beginning is a faithful God! He is the God of covenant! He respects His word (Ps.119:89). But sometimes it looks& appears that He is compromising His word. It’ is as if you’ve received a prophecy that at certain time, something great is going to happen to you and then you waited for it but its not coming forth and you wonder- is this really God speaking?
Prophecies are plans and purposes of God for man in the future. When He gives you a prophecy, then he has committed himself to your destiny. Jer.29:11 say: “For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.”(AMP Version).Saul, being in a chaotic situation couldn’t control himself & the people he was leading. So he ordered to perform the offerings. As a king he was not qualify, for only the priest are qualified to offer any kind of offering to the Lord.
I Sam.13:10 says And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him.”
It was unfortunate that immediately Saul forced himself to offer the offering, Samuel came in. You may have wondered why the Lord delays till the last minute! This is because He is working a far greater blessing for you. If Saul had known that waiting for Samuel would make God to establish a kingly dynasty for him, he would have waited long enough.  Say this to yourself: “GOD IS PREPARING A GREAT FUTURE FOR ME AND IT WILL BE BIGGER, BRIGHTER AND GREATER!” I Sam.13:13 & 14 show us the consequences of not waiting enough for the Lord in any situation.
And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.
14But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the Lord hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the Lord commanded thee.

Oh what a wasted effort! Jesus Christ would have come out of Saul’s lineage but for the error. Men and Brethren, I want you to hold onto the Lord no matter the situation you’re going through. Thank God you’re going through it. That means you won’t die in it. Trust in Him, he’ll bring it to pass. You might have waited & waited upon all the prophecies yet nothing is happening. Don’t worry; all things will work out well for you. At this point in Saul’s life, his uttermost desire was deliverance but God’s plan for him was to give him an everlasting anointing. Imagine the difference! Momentary deliverance versus Eternal kingship! There’s no way to compare the difference. Please trust him to perform His word in set-times and in wrong-times. Make up your mind like the three Hebrew men-Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego that even if He comes ‘LATE’, even if it didn’t come through with all the prophetic prophecies released upon you. Job says “Though he slays me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.” (Job 13:15). Here was a man that suffered many evils because he hated evil. A man God himself boated to Satan saying “…Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?” consider, if such a man could go through tribulations that he didn’t commit for nine months yet he did not compromise, you too can stand firm in Him. No matter what, He knows how and when.

There are three things I know that can keep you going forward when prophecy delays or has passed the prophesied time.

1.    Refuse to worry
Matt.6:34 say “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
NO here in Greek means “any but; God forbid…” God forbid the thought of worry about the affairs of your life because that is His job! Let him do his job. Philip.4:6 say “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa said “anytime you worry and allow anxiety to take over your mind, it’s a sign that God is not with you” Therefore make up your mind that nothing will trouble your peace. No situation is worth your joy! Don’t trade you joy for anything. This is because once joy or peace is lacking in your heart nothing good can come in. anxiety is like the wall of Jericho that was hindering the children of Israel. It hinders grace in any life it abides and at the same time kills the exiting blessing that it possess (Philip.4:7, Isa.12:3).
2.    Keep declaring His Word
Acts 19:20 say “So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.Every targeted prophecy backed up with faith is bound to return with the desired result. The word of God has never failed and he cannot fail in your situation. Eccl.11:3 say “If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be.The clouds here also mean your word-bank. So the more you declare the Word whether as a prayer or as a prophecy, you’re filling up account with heavenly resources. Oh! Keep declaring the Word, for he’ll create your world.
3.    Stand
Eph. 6:13 say “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
‘Stand’ here means ‘hold up or continue or abide’. Children of the kingdom, no matter what happens NEVER, NEVER DENY YOUR FAITH. Keep standing for him. There’ hope! Keep standing in any situation and the Lord will surprise you. I prophesy to you today, the Egyptians that you see today; you’ll see them no more in Jesus’ name. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob grant you speed in answers to your prayers in Jesus’ name. Ifyou believe this say a big amen, Amen!
Prayer Points:
v  My father, my father, empower me with the spirit of love to follow you unconditionally.
v  My father, my father, remove all forms of anxieties in my life and help to put my trust in you in the name of Jesus.
v  My father, my father, every power assigned to frustrate my efforts, from the roots let them be destroyed by the blood of Jesus

Conclusion
If you’ve not given your life to Jesus, then you’re not safe! Your glorious end is not guarantee. The message and the prayers can do you no good if Christ has not been birth forth in your life. Also if you had wondered from the faith, there’s a chance for you. Jesus said: come unto me all that are weary and heavy laden for he will give you rest (Matt.11:28).
Now pray this prayer with your whole heart, mind and mouth: “Lord Jesus, I come to you today. Forgive me of all my sins. I acknowledge am a sinner. Sanctify me with your precious blood. I believe that you died for me and that you rose again for my justification. Right now and hence forth, come be my lord and savior. Write my name in the book of life. Give me the grace to love and serve you wholly from this day onward in and through Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

Now you’re born again. You’ve been accepted into the beloved if you prayed the prayer above sincerely.
Rom.8:17 says And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
If you prayed the salvation prayer, please call or text us your name and prayer-requests, we promise to pray for you and counsel you. Thank you and the Lord bless you!
Shalom!
