The Birthplace of Prophecy by Dr. Emma Innocent

The Birthplace of Prophecy
We defined Prophecy as “a prediction of a future event that is believed to reveal the will of a deity” according to Encarta Dictionaries 2009 Edition. Webster’s Dictionary defines prophecy as “in the New Testament, the gift of speaking under the influence of the HolySpirit, predictions of the future under the influence of divine guidance, the act or practice of prophet. Any prediction, something prophesied or predicted, specifically, the divinely inspired utterance of a prophet, a book of prophesies.” Simply put, Prophecy is the spoken or written words of the Lord to people. According to the blessed Myles Munroe, he defined it as “telling the future which is God’s past”. As long as God is concern, prophecy exists in his past but to us, it is in the future. The word ‘Prophecy’ appears in the King James Version of the Bible twenty-one times.
The word Unstoppable means cannot be stopped or placed on permanent hostage. When someone is described as unstoppable, it indicates that the person’s mission must be executed no matter the internal or external forces against him or her. When a prophecy is described as unstoppable, it indicates that no internal or external force can stop it from coming to pass or to been fulfilled.
Destiny is defined as your future or the pre-ordained path of your life. It is the purpose for your existence.
Types of Prophecy
There are two types of prophecy which are descriptive and predictive prophecy. Descriptive prophecy explains the purposes and plans of God in the one’s life. It can also be called forth-telling. Examples are the letters Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy (1 Tim.1:18; 4:14) and the prophecy of the HolyGhost to separate Paul and Barnabas for the mission work while Predictive prophecy reveals the prediction of present, near future and distant future events where there is nothing known definitely about that event. It can also be called fore-telling. An example is the case of a prophet called Agabus who predicted a coming famine and the imprisonment of Paul in Jerusalem (Acts 11:27-29; 21:10-11).
Kinds of Prophecy
Prophecy exists in four kinds:
  1. Mental Prophecy
  2. Oral Prophecy
  3. Logos Prophecy
  4. Rhema Prophecy

·                    Mental Prophecy:
This is an imaginary prophecy – pictures or visions of what God has shown you. This is where creation itself started from. This is where every fulfilled prophecy that is fulfilled started from. No prophecy is fulfilled by chance! Any prophecy fulfilled without going through mental scrutiny does not have a foundation. That means it will soon fade away. It will lose its staying power.
Jesus said in Luke 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it”
Every great project or ministry you see today, their birthplace was the mind. One telecommunication company (MTN) says “if you can conceive it, you can achieve it”. Here is how the mental prophecy started:
Genesis 1:1 says “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” After this, something happened. Before going to tell us what happened, we should understand here that nothing was said about how he created the heaven and the earth in verse one. All we were told was that they are created. This dispensation is what is known as the dispensation of Angels or ageless past.
In verse two, we hear that the earth became formless and void. And from verse three to twenty-five, the Lord started re-creating or re-making those things He had created in verse one. During this process God was calling back those things that were lost in verse one that is the reason you see the word – “And God made”
Now in verse twenty-six to thirty, we see God creating man and woman. He also gave them the commission of dominion in the earth realm.
Now let get to Gen. 2:4- 4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were CREATED, in the day that the LORD God MADE the earth and the heavens,
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
These scriptures are proving one thing – that man was created before he was made. The Hebrew meaning of the word “created” is “to bring into being; to bring something out of nothing”

Heb. 1:3 says “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear

While the Hebrew word for “made” is “asah” meaning “to make out of already existing material; to bring to form.” Creation is done by having a mental picture of what you want to do, while making is something done by physical actions. We found out that from Gen. 1:26 till Gen. 2:6, man only existed as a created being in the mind of God. Mental prophecy was involved here. The Lord created a mental picture and then created it to be like him - a spirit (John 4:24a). This shows that mental prophecy is not only imagining something but it's about giving life to an imaginary object to live in the realm of the spirit. Anytime you involve in a mental process, you are creating that image into existence. That object starts living. It functions in that realm as long as you keep feeding it with imaginary abilities.
For instance, you can sit down and imagine a computer that doesn’t use the conventional monitors that we know i.e. Flat panel display and cathode ray tube monitors but it uses the air. The air acts like a projector where a wall or cloth is used as the screen. Another function should be that this new concept can locate anyone in a matter of seconds in any part of the world. So imagine such things like this. When you create this thought, as far as you are concern the said object exist. In fact, you can see yourself using that object. At this point in time, you have created an ‘object-spirit’. This ‘object-spirit’ exists as long as it stays in your mind. This is one of the reasons why people dream of what their mind had conceived and accepted in the day. That is what we call living in the dreamland. It’s important you start from the dreamland if ever you want to get to your Canaan land! A minister once said “a life without defined purpose is not worth living”.
So God created man in Gen. one verse twenty-six to twenty eight by forming a mental picture of him which created the human spirit. Man’s first home was in God’s dreamland. This is one of the reasons why dreams are very powerful. What you dream can affect both your present and your future. Have you heard of someone that dreamt that he was beheaded and in the day, some assassins visited him to kill him? The reason for this is that as far as he was concerned, the assassin has seen him beheaded whether in their sub-conscious or conscious mind. To them, a replica of his spirit has been created and beheaded. This is why you should not joke with your dream life. It is one of the birthplaces of great destinies. Once your dream life is captured, you are finished! In the Old Testament, kings took dreams as sovereign messages which if not executed, can ruin their reign on the throne. This is the reason why they can destroy lives if not duly interpreted. (Dan.2:1-13)
Man is a product of mental birth and if you must go far in life you must be born again mentally. Another significant thing to prove that man was created before he was made is that from Gen. 1:3 – 2:3, the statements you normally see here is "And God …” but from Gen. 2:4, the name of God changed to the LORD God. What is the difference?
God (used from Gen. 1:3 Gen. 2:3) in Hebrew is ‘Elohim” showing the plural use of God i.e. God-the Father, the Word (which later became flesh – the Son) and the HolySpirit (1 Jn.5:7, Jn.1:1, 14). The trinity was involved in creation. No wonder in Genesis chapter one verse twenty-six, God the Father said to the trinity members “Let us make..." but the Lord God (used from Gen. 2:4) in Hebrew is “Jehovah" meaning “The self-existent or eternal God”. So we see how the covenant name ‘Elohim’ that is responsible for the creation changed to the covenant name ‘Jehovah’ who is responsible for the completeness of the total being – the Spirit, Soul and Body.
Man, who existed in the spirit-realm was brought into the physical world to also live by the revelation of the Lord God. It took the ‘Lord God’ to do this. Why? Because man was to become a separated being from God just like the Word became flesh in John 1:14. This will now make man use his thinking faculty or his abilities. As long as man stays only in the spirit-realm, the earth realm is out of reach. So why will God create and make the earth for man while man stays as a spirit only? The reason for creation would have been aborted if God did not perform Gen. 2:7. Man has to be formed for him to exist both in the spirit-realm and in the earth-realm. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground...” can be paraphrased as: “And the self-existing God formed man.” it takes a great man to give birth to a great son. It takes a Lion to give birth to a lion. So also it takes a self-existing God to form a self-existing man. Shout hallelujah!
Immediately God finished creating you, he brought you to this world to fulfill prophecy which is in Gen. 1:27-28. Now you can see that prophecy started from the mind of God. That is your birthplace. That is your Genesis. And if God is your Alpha, He’ll also be your Omega! Shout Hallelujah! He has finished your creation! You are now a finished product. Go and manifest!
Another rhema here is that God operate through his covenant and his covenant is attached to his names. Anytime God want to perform an action, he appears with a covenant name relating to that action. For instance, for God to come down with his healing wings, his covenant name relating to healing will be called forth - Jehovah Rapha. It is wrong and un-biblical to pray a pray like this "Jehovah Rapha, manifest your favour in my life in Jesus name.” This is because the covenant name-Jehovah Rapha has nothing to do with his favour. Such prayers are place on ‘voice-mail’ even if you use it in Jesus name. If at all the Lord answers this prayer, it solely rest on his grace and mercy.
God’s covenant names are divided into two parts which are:
i.                     Creatorship Names: His creative names are the Elohistic names. It shows God’s creative powers in the universe.
ii.                   Redemptive Names: God’s redemptive names are the Jehovahistic names. It shows His power to save and empower mankind.
Understanding His covenant names will guide you in your choice of words when talking to the King. Accurate and specific prayers attract quick attention from the LORD. Now that you know, use his covenant names to get what you want. Below are list of some of God’s covenant names and their meanings.
